In situations where there is a risk that protective clothing may generate sparks (ignition source) that can cause the explosive to ignite, fire-resistant workwear that has antistatic properties is required. The combination of antistatic materials and the right clothing design can eliminate the risk of sparking. ATEX protective clothing with antistatic properties is extremely important when working with petrochemicals, gases and other areas where there is a high risk of explosion.

RISK ASSESSMENT

When working in ATEX environments, Tranemo, Fristads recommends clothing certified according to EN 1149-5 in combination with EN ISO 11612. The antistatic properties of the garment minimize the risk of sparks (ignition sources) that could cause an explosion. This is important when working in hazardous areas in environments m.in such as petrochemicals, gas hazards and other explosive industries.

Most of our flame retardant clothing is EN 1149-5 certified. Antistatic clothing marked as EN 1149-5 is designed to be worn in ATEX zones 1, 2, 20, 21 and 22. In an oxygen-enriched or Zone 0 atmosphere, antistatic clothing should not be used without prior approval by a qualified safety engineer, as wear can affect the degree of protection provided by the garment and it is important that it is worn in the right way in these environments. Antistatic clothing has antistatic fibers woven into the fabric and metal parts are coated according to EN design requirements. However, a range of garments that do not contain metal components, such as the Tera TX Non-Metal Tranemo with visible details, is particularly suitable for ATEX environments.

ATEX jackets and trousers - safety is the most important thing

Our assortment includes a wide selection of ATEX pants, which have excellent antistatic, chemical resistance and flame retardancy. Specially selected materials from which they are made are durable and not prone to tearing, and at the same time light to guarantee high wearing comfort. ATEX trousers models available in our store have been equipped with functional accessories, m.in. mobile phone pockets, key ring holder, ruler pocket or tool strap.

Among the proposals of clothing dedicated to ATEX explosion hazard zones, we also have flame-retardant jackets - including the variant with winter insulation. The visibility and safety of the wearers is increased by the use of clearly distinctive reflective stripes.

ATEX protective clothing offered by Amber Marine is ideal for use in difficult conditions. The ATEX trousers available in this category, as well as jackets and overalls, meet the requirements for working in potentially dangerous places for the employee, combining style with proven efficiency.
